Endorsement

SuRe® Endorsing partners

SuRe® Endorsing partners (organizations) and SuRe® Ambassadors (individuals) actively promote and mainstream the SuRe® Standard.

The way SuRe® Ambassadors and Endorsing partners mainstream SuRe® varies from partners to partners, and might include:

  • Identifying opportunities for project collaborations
  • Facilitating partnerships with relevant actors
  • Presenting SuRe® and the SuRe® mission at thematic events, such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Displaying the SuRe® logo on their website and promotional material

SuRe® Endorsers and Ambassadors also receive regular updates about SuRe® activities and initiatives and are invited to join SuRe® events around the globe.

Endorse the SuRe® Standard

Why Endorse SuRe®?

Endorsing SuRe® is a simple way of communicating your support for sustainability and resilience in infrastructure, and the use of the SuRe® standard for infrastructure projects. This helps us to raise the profile of the standard and encourage more infrastructure projects to improve to meet the needs of the future, for example, combating climate change, protecting biodiversity, and making services available for the most poor and vulnerable.

What does Endorsement Mean?

Endorsing the SuRe® Standard means that you support our mission to mainstream sustainability and resilience in infrastructure and that you encourage the use of the SuRe® Standard. Once you endorse SuRe®, we will use your logo to promote SuRe® and you can also communicate your endorsement of SuRe® to your stakeholders and partners as a way of demonstrating your intentions to support sustainability and resilience in infrastructure.

By endorsing the standard, you are not required to provide financial or technical support.

How to Endorse SuRe® Today?

To apply to endorse SuRe®, simply read the Terms and Conditions below, fill in the information at the bottom of the page and click on the ‘Submit’ button. GIB will review your application and notify you if you are accepted as an Endorser of SuRe®

1 Introduction

Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB) Foundation is a Swiss foundation based in Basel working to promote sustainable and resilient infrastructure through sustainable infrastructure design and financing on a global scale. Active since 2008, GIB works with multiple stakeholders ranging from city representatives to project developers and infrastructure financiers. GIB has the vision that infrastructure – be it an energy plant, a transit infrastructure or a water utility – should not only deliver its service efficiently but also in a way that helps towards tackling the world’s largest sustainability challenges stemming from population growth, rapid urbanisation, social inequalities, excessive use of finite resources and carbon-intensive lifestyles. GIB’s work thus pushes for transformative actions in the field of infrastructure development and finance to contribute to sustainable development and the strengthening of community resilience.
GIB helps to meet the challenge of designing, implementing and financing sustainable infrastructure projects particularly but not exclusively during the early stage of the project cycle. Therefore, GIB has developed “SuRe® – The Standard for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure”. SuRe® is a third-party-verified, global voluntary standard, developed through a multi-stakeholder approach incorporating inputs from developed and emerging nations. The standard assesses infrastructure throughout the project life cycle at the design, construction and operational phases. SuRe® consists of 65 criteria covering a wide range of sustainability issues under the themes of society, the environment and governance.
GIB desires to obtain the non-exclusive right to use the name, trademarks, and endorsement activities of the signatory of the present Terms and Conditions in connection with the advertising and promotion of GIB’s SuRe® – The Standard for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure (hereinafter referred to as “SuRe®” or the “Standard”);
